Find Your perfect Holiday Accommodation

"with so much on offer it really is an idyllic location."

We were delighted to be reviewed in the Daily Mail on Saturday January 27th, by Steven Donn.

"The full moon, lying low in the night sky, appears to be beckoning us to our destination as we drive through the East Neuk of Fife. We see flashes of the countryside, but I’ve driven these roads before. I know the beauty masked by the darkness on this autumnal evening – and how trips here are always good for the soul. We are visiting Morton of Pitmilly, a few miles south of St Andrews. It’s a countryside resort, set among the fields and farms outside Kingsbarns. It will be our home for the next two nights and there is an air of excitement as we pull up outside our accommodation, our two children eager to explore.

The house is modern and spacious: we have three bedrooms, all en suite, and an open-plan kitchen/lounge. Aware that there will be much to see the next day, we head for bed after a glass of wine and some food. Our bedroom is eastfacing and we are treated to quite the view the next morning. The rolling fields give way to the town and road, the sea beckoning from beyond. I could happily wake up to that all year round.

There’s much to do in the resort and we have booked a swimming slot at the indoor pool for the afternoon, so the morning will be the best time to head out. Crail is a short drive away and down one of the village’s side streets we hit the jackpot. Crail Pottery is an absolute gem of a place to visit. Every piece is hand-crafted on site and it would be easy to spend a fortune there. Thankfully, we escape with just a jug for the dining table.

We return to our resort in time for our swim – and some time in the sauna and steam room. There is a children’s play park, French boules, putting, croquet, hammocks, and an indoor and outdoor tennis court. It’s perfect for the kids. There’s also the gym but one of the highlights for me – an avid coffee drinker – is the pop-up café, set among an eclectic mix of seating, including bales of hay and barrels. Sitting there in the morning was bliss. On occasion, the pop-up opens in the evening, when coffee gives way to Aperol Spritz.

The resort also caters for weddings and family parties, and with so much on offer it really is an idyllic location. For a golfing holiday, needless to say, it would be absolutely ideal.

Top spot: Ideal setting and view; fun popup café "
