HEALTH AND WELLBEING RETREAT AT PITMILLY

With its tranquil rural setting and close proximity to stunning local beaches, Morton of Pitmilly is perfectly placed to offer accommodation and leisure facilities for those that need to relax and unwind from the busyness of daily life. It’s not surprising therefore that we’ve welcomed yoga and mindfulness retreats, as well as business group meetings in the past.

In January this year we were delighted to host the first wellbeing retreat of The Coorie Collective. In this blog post Jo, one of the Collective’s founding members, reflects on the retreat and the inspiration behind it.

Hi! My name is Jo and I’m one third of The Coorie Collective.  The Collective officially launched in August 2019 when together with Pen and Kristyn – two friends from North East Fife with a similar passion for health and wellbeing – we decided to share our passion by offering wellbeing retreats in Scotland.  With the help of Eilidh Smith, owner of the beautiful Morton of Pitmilly Countryside Resort, we set about planning their first ever weekend wellbeing retreat in January 2020.

Rest, Reflect & Restore

After months of planning, sharing ideas and knowledge about each of our areas of expertise, (yoga, life coaching and functional medicine), we decided we wanted to create a retreat experience based around the words ‘Rest, Reflect & Restore’.  We felt these words encapsulated what we hoped our guests would achieve during the retreat, allowing them the time and space for some personal development and growth.  With an emphasis on quality, locally sourced food, carefully planned yoga classes and well researched workshops and life coaching, we wanted our guests to feel cared for, nourished and empowered.

With Pitmilly as the backdrop, the retreat also offered the chance of some quality downtime in luxury accommodation, with access to the heated pool, steam-room, sauna and beautiful coastal walks to clear the cobwebs and embrace the winter sun.

Our hope was that every person who attended the retreat would leave with something they could take home and apply in their everyday lives after leaving Pitmilly. Judging by the feedback, it’s fair to say that hope was achieved. The retreat was a resounding success with all twelve guests providing wonderful comments on all aspects of the weekend, with the only criticism being that it wasn’t long enough!  For more information please visit www.thecooriecollective.com
