Celebrating 35 Years at Morton of Pitmilly

This year, on the 10th August 2025, our family, team and guests marked a truly special milestone for Morton of Pitmilly as we proudly celebrated 35 years of countryside hospitality, community spirit and sustainable growth right here in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife.

Since our inception 35 years ago the focus and drive behind Pitmilly has always been family and connection; to nature, to one another, and to the spectacular landscape that surrounds us.

Our 35th anniversary celebration was everything we could have hoped for :  a warm, joyful day filled with laughter, local produce, and plenty of ice cream! Guests, colleagues and neighbours joined us for fizz and strawberry tarts, lunch in the sun and a range of family-friendly activities that showcased the heart of our agritourism community.

Jess, our bookings and operations co-ordinator, did a fantastic job of running a variety of games and competitions for all the family, including 'Pin the Tail on the Black Lab' (which Roxy, Milly and Alba were delighted about) and 'What 3 Words' best describe how Pitmilly makes our guests feel. The atmosphere was buzzing with happy vibes as we reflected on 35 years of hard work, growth, and cherished memories.

The Pitmilly Team

At the heart of Morton of Pitmilly’s success is our Managing Director, Eilidh Smith. Her passion, creativity, and leadership have shaped Pitmilly into the thriving countryside resort it is today. Alongside her role here, Eilidh also serves as the Great Britain Captain of the Women’s Masters Tennis Team, bringing the same energy, teamwork, and commitment to excellence that defines our entire ethos.

We’re immensely proud of our dedicated Pitmilly team, whose continued  enthusiasm and hard work made our anniversary event truly special. The care and pride Debbie and her housekeeping team take in our accommodation, and the effort Matt and Kenny, our maintenance team, make to keep everything working well and the trails and gardens looking great, is evident wherever you go at Pitmilly. As many of you comment on, there is always the warmest of welcomes from Diane, Jess and Eilidh when you arrive at the farm.

The whole team go the extra mile and are never far away if you need anything during your stay.

Over the past three and a half decades, we’ve grown with purpose; expanding our facilities while staying true to our sustainably minded, nature-focused roots. Set amidst rolling fields near the coast and surrounded by some of Scotland’s finest golf courses, Morton of Pitmilly Countryside Resort offers the perfect blend of tranquillity, nature, and luxury.

Guests visit Pitmilly for many reasons: peaceful weekends away, outdoor adventures, coastal walks, golf and tennis, or simply to unwind in the serenity of the Scottish countryside. Whatever brings you here, you’ll find a warm welcome and a genuine sense of home.

Looking Ahead: A Focus on Health and Wellness

As we celebrate our past, we’re also looking ahead with excitement.

The next chapter at Pitmilly will see us expand our work in health and well-being, with plans for a nature based wellness hub featuring a yoga studio, a wood fired sauna and hot and cold tubs that can be enjoyed under our wide open skies.

This new space will be a tranquil retreat where guests can take a break from the chaos of life to relax, recharge, and reconnect perfectly complementing our countryside setting and sustainable ethos.

Here’s to the Next 35 Years

As we raise a glass to 35 years of success, we want to thank every guest (and their pets), neighbour, colleague and friend who has been part of the Morton of Pitmilly journey. Your trust, enthusiasm, and love for what we do inspire us every day.

Here’s to the next 35 years of community, care, and countryside magic and to many more celebrations at the farm.

We have a range of seasonal discounts on offer in the run up to Christmas and New Year. We still have some availability so book your discounted stay here.

Thank you for being part of our Morton of Pitmilly story.

With Love,

Eilidh and the team x
