Environmental Policy
protecting the environment ...Morton of Pitmilly is a farm and holiday business set in 150 acres.

The holiday business is based on the original stone farm courtyard converted into ten houses with adjoining indoor swimming pool and many leisure facilities.

Thirty five of our farm's acres have been given over to various environmental projects.

We recognise that due to the nature of our business there may be some negative evironmental impact, but by conducting our business in a responsible and thoughtful manner we can reduce and even act to improve the quality of the environment where appropriate.

Our environmental objectives are :

  • We aim to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and actively encourage recycling.
  • We will compost on site all bio-degradable waste and return it to the land as a soil conditioner.
  • We will continually investigate measures that reduce the consumption of scarce resources especially electricity, fuel and water.
  • We will continually strive to prevent pollution.
  • We are committed to sourcing our electricity from green suppliers.
  • As far as possible, we will use environmentally friendly cleaning products (Ecover and Greenline).
  • We will use recyled products whenever possible.
  • We will commit some of our resources on an ongoing basis to various on farm bio-diversity projects, encouraging many trees, plants and wild life.
  • We will provide appropriate training to our employees and contractors to enable them to implement this environmental policy.
  • We will continue to manage our new woodland so that, through sequestration, we can lock up our own carbon emmissions and make our business carbon neutral.

If you would like to offset the carbon emmissions of your journey to Morton of Pitmilly, please visit www.climatecare.org or www.treesforlife.org.
